Recording activities performed in UPK
Firstly, using UPK to record simulations on how to use the UPK Developer is generally a bad idea - it's too confusing. The main problem is that you will have action areas on the screenshots that you capture (assuming that you are demonstrating this functionality), and will also have action areas in your recording; trainees may be confused as to which ones are action areas that they have to interact with. It is usually better to find some other way of doing this.
If you really want to record UPK, it is possible. However, the problem is that when you start recording something, UPK hides the Developer (or Record It Wizard), specifically so that it does not capture itself. You will have this problem even if you try to record the Record It Wizard from the Developer.
To be able to record UPK by using UPK you need to have one of the following:
- Two instances of UPK installed. This can be a Client-Server installation and a Stand-alone installation, or two stand-alone installations.
- Access to two separate Libraries (see Multi-library installation). In this case, you can log on to UPK twice using separate Profiles, and record one Library from the other.
