Symptom

When selecting a Topic in the Outline of the Player, the following message is displaye din a pop-up message box:

 Problem retrieving data: Not Found

Possibility 1: Publishing has not finished

Cause

Typically, this only happens for large Players, and is because publishing has not finished. The Outline has been generated, but publishing of the Topics contained within it is not complete. This same error may appear if you publish to a staging area, and then move the published content to the final (user-accessible / 'Production') server, in which case the copy has not yet finished.

Resolution

Wait for publishing (or the copy) to complete, and try again. If this doesn't help, do another (incremental) publish/copy.

Possibility 2: Something got missed during publishing

Cause

I've seen this happen on an incremental publish, and the message above appears for the content that is new for this publication. It looks as though publishing maybe failed part way through - the Topic exists in the Library and was selected for publishing. It was included in the Outline, but for some reason the actual Topic did not get created. The Topic does also not appear in the kp.html file.

Looking in the published \Publishing Content\PlayerPackage\data\tpc\ folder, there is not a folder for this Topic, but it does appear in a few places within the Publishing Data folder.

Resolution

Do a Get All and then try publishing again. When doing an incremental publish, UPK may not identify the missing Topics as needing publishing (because the 'last changed' date is not more recent than the last version it thought it published (checking against the Publishing Data folder). In this case (the 'new' Topics' will still not get picked up on the incremental publish) try exporting them and re-importing them. This will reset the 'last changed date' - although it will also create a new version in the [Document History]].
