Player configuration (config.xml)

The config.xml file in the Player Publication Package controls several aspects of the appearance and behavior of the Player. Some of the more useful settings in this file are explained below:

Parameter Use
AutoExpandLimit If the Player Outline contains equal to or less than the number specified, then the Outline will be automatically expanded to show all entries. Otherwise, only the top-level Outline Entries will be shown, and the user will be required to expand these themselves.
SearchResultLimit Specifies the number of results that will be returned by the search.

StringInputAutoadvanceEnabled If set to true (the default) then as soon as the user enters the correct input text for a String Input Action, the Player automatically advances to the next step. If set to false, the user must click on the Typing Complete button to advance. You can set this to false if you do not want to give the user too much help in Know It? mode.
StringInputLostFocusAutoadvanceEnambled (defaults to true)
InfoWidth The default width (in pixels) of a Web Page displayed via a hyperlink or Frame Icon
InfoHeight The default height (in pixels) of a Web Page displayed via a hyperlink or Frame Icon
InfoWidth2 The default width (in pixels) of a Web Page displayed via a hyperlink in an already-displayed Web Page
InfoHeight2 The default height (in pixels) of a Web Page displayed via a hyperlink in an already-displayed Web Page
ShowScoreNeeded Determines whether or not the "score needed" is displayed in Know It? mode. Defaults to true.
PreloadScreenEnabled If set to true (whcih is the default), UPK will pre-load screens for a Topic, which should result in better playback, although it may take longer to load the Topic to begin with.
HideClickMark In See It! mode, UPK will display an icon where the cursor is clicked (looks like a smalll explosion). Set this parameter to true to suppress the display of this icon.
TrackFeedback Determines whether the user's score is displayed at the end of playback in Know It? mode. If set to true (the default), the score is displayed; if set to false, the score will not be displayed.
MouseDelay (defaults to 100)
BullseyeDelay (defaults to 150)
InputDelay (defaults to 200)
WheelDelay (defaults to 500)
PauseDelay (defaults to 500)
AllowRandomAnswersForMatchingQuestions (defaults to true)
ShowFrameID Determines whether the Frame ID is displayed in the upper-left corner of the playback screen. This is useful for troubleshooting or reviews. Valid values are true (Frame ID is shown), false (default - Frame ID is not shown), and Fxx where xx is 1-12. This latter value allows the user to press SHIFT+the specified function key to toggle between showing and hiding the Frame ID
